Event Details:
As our changing climate puts increasing pressure on water supplies across the western U.S., the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is developing a new Climate Adaptation Master Plan for Water (CAMP4W). Please join us to learn more about this important initiative and contribute your voice to our regional planning effort.
Metropolitan’s CAMP4W helps address future uncertainties critical to our region, including:
How will climate change impact the water supplies Southern California has traditionally relied upon?
Will evolving state and federal regulations influence how much water Southern California can access in the future?
How will Southern California’s population and collective demand for water change in the coming decades?
The State has deemed access to safe, clean water a human right. What more can public agencies do to ensure access to safe, clean and affordable water for everyone in their service areas?
Our keynote speakers are Tianna Shaw-Wakeman and Zoe Cunliffe, members of Black Women for Wellness’ Environmental Justice team and co-authors of “A Drinking Water Guide for South LA (2024)." In addition, we will have speakers from Metropolitan and interactive discussions and activities.
The forum is a hybrid event. Participants may join in person or via Zoom. Lunch and refreshments will be provided onsite. We encourage you to use public transportation if attending in person.
All Southern California residents are welcome. We look forward to your participation!
