CICWQ Presentation on TMDL Compliance in the DRAFT California Construction General Permit

CICWQ Presentation on Construction Job Site TMDL Compliance

CICWQ was invited to present at the annual Tri-State Environmental Conference, Stormwater Program, on August 10, 2021, held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tri-State consists of the AZ Water Association, California Water Environment Association, and Nevada Water Environment Association.

The presentation focuses on how the construction industry in California is approaching potential compliance with Numeric Effluent Limits (NELs) and Numeric Action Levels (NALs) as proposed in the renewal of the California Construction General Permit for Stormwater.

As presented during a 50-minute panel discussion, it specifically examines sediment treatment and pollutant removal technologies available for use at construction job sites and their ability to meet proposed pollutant discharge limits. It also examines how large home building projects have attempted to incorporate advanced sediment treatment technologies and systems into their stormwater compliance programs.

CICWQ was represented by Mark Grey (CICWQ-BIASC), Russ Foster (JF Shea, Inc., and Robert Patterson (Baldwin & Sons).
